Welcome to www.thecatempire.info, the unofficial fansite for The Cat Empire. This site aims to be a comprehensive resource for fans of the band. We collect the latest news about the band, and compile a database of information about their releases, live performances, and lyrics.

An essential part of the site are the discussion forums, where fans can meet and talk about anything they like. Most of the site's content begins life in the forums, where fans contribute their pictures, lyrics transcriptions, gig reviews, etc.

www.thecatempire.info is an unofficial website, and has no formal connection with The Cat Empire or their management. Some of the forum regulars are friends with the band, though, so we do get a lot of inside information! This is not a "fan club" or any official offshoot of The Cat Empire. The opinions and information in this site shouldn't be taken as gospel - please consult the official site for confirmation of touring dates, etc.

The site is entirely run by volunteers, and does not contain any advertisements.

Site Promotion

If you would like to help promote the site, there is some information and cards you can print here. In general, the rule is simple: tell everyone you think is interested! And please link to this site. Please don't link directly to media (photos or music), but anything else is fine.

Music Samples

As part of the discography, www.thecatempire.info offers samples of Cat Empire releases. These are samples only, not whole tracks. We feel that this is an appropriate way to let visitors hear the music before they buy an album, or to hear songs from albums that are out of print. We do not and cannot make the whole tracks available - please buy their releases and support the artists.

Live recordings

We encourage fans to submit amateur recordings of live performances, along with photos or video that they have made of the event. Unless we hear otherwise from the band, we feel that there's nothing wrong with this.
