Spotted by Cat in the forums, The Cat Empire will be gracing our televisions later this week! Tune to Channel Ten and set your recorders for midnight on Thursday night to catch a half-hour of "Sounds from Estudio 101".
Estudio 101 is the famous Cuban recording studio where Two Shoes was made, so presumably that's what will be featured in this show. The TV guide describes it only as "light entertainment" so it is unclear whether it will have been heavily censored.
Ryan and Jumps did a web-chat recently, and Ange in the forums reported a couple of bits of information. One is that Two Shoes is being re-released with a DVD, and that the DVD should be available separately as well. Could this TV show come from the same content as will be on the DVD?
It looks like we missed a few tour dates for the upcoming North American tour. Note that it's not the USA tour, since they're venturing north of the border into Canuck territory! These dates are taken from LiveDaily, but are also available on pollstar. As usual, the forums had this info first!
Adding to the previous list, there is also:
As usual, we want all your reviews, setlists, and pictures from the gigs. If you're planning to go, stop by the forums and hook up with some crew for the gig, and make a night of it!
Spotted in the forums here, it seems that the Tivoli in Brisbane has let slip the dates for the next TCE gigs: November 8th and November 9th. Another two nights of Brisvegan mayhem! We have reviews for the last two Tivoli gigs here and here, and they were hot hot hot.
If previous tours are anything to judge by, the next Australian tour might kick off around the last week of October, which also fits with their US tour schedule that finishes October 10.
Does the touring never end? The European tour has barely finished, and the boys are back in town for a break, some Melbourne gigs (including the Bennett's Lane gigs in early September) and a "new project". And now we have dates for the next USA tour, starting late September. These will be on the official website soon, but if you can't wait, check them out here!
Speaking of things American, there is a TCE site on myspace that might be of interest - more on that in the future, I hope...
It's amazing what you can learn digging through the forums... here are some examples!
Meanwhile, the boys are still overseas and chugging through their European tour. No word this time as to a special tour CD, and we have heard very few reviews from concerts, too. If you saw The Cat Empire anywhere on their European tour, join us in the forums and let us know!
