This setlist is incomplete as I don't know the names of the new songs that were played.
Encore: SOMETHING ELSE NEW #2
La Boite is a small low-ceilinged subterranean venue, with a circular stage that is two thirds exposed. Doors opened about midnight, the band was supposed to start at quarter past, but ended up going on later. The place was pretty quiet, or at least, pretty empty. At the beginning, there were about thirty people, and at the end I would say about sixty? A very up-close gig.
A lot of the crowd were Australian (hi guys, the ones I met), including the Lightweight Eights rowing team (bronze at the world champs, well done) and some travellers. Most of the other people had been dragged down by an Australian or two! One classic comment from a Brazilian girl about how, for Australians, they play excellent Latin music
The overall mood of the show was ... how should I put this ... pub rocky. A couple of their new songs (which I donīt have names, let alone lyrics for) were decidedly on the pub-rock side, which is interesting, and was well-recieved. Talking to Harry later, he said, hey, we've tried everything else
Everyone that I talked to was very happy and they are enjoying the tour. The response has been excellent across Europe, especially at the big festivals. Let's hope that this is the start of something even better!
